Privacy policy

This policy describes the data processed by crossword-puzzle.xyz, its purpose, the recipients and your rights. It complies with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR and equivalent laws.

Data processed

Locally stored data (browser localStorage): current grid state, typed letters, chosen settings (theme, size, difficulty, validation mode), elapsed time. This data never leaves your device and is accessible only to you.

Third-party advertising cookies: the site displays advertising via Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners place cookies to personalise ads, measure audience and limit ad frequency. These cookies are only set after your explicit consent through the banner shown on your first visit (visitors from the EU, UK, Switzerland and other equivalent jurisdictions), managed by Google Funding Choices in accordance with Google's EU User Consent Policy.

Server logs: the host (Vercel) automatically collects technical logs (IP address, browser type, page visited, timestamp) for security and diagnostic purposes. These logs are kept according to Vercel's policy.
